A Summer in Paris

Areas:

  • Rue Cler:  Along with being the destination for fresh flowers and food, Rue Cler is also a classic cafe hub. Some of the most classic cafe’s are Cafe Central and L’Eclair.
  • Seine:  The beautiful English Channel flowing through Paris. Sitting along the Seine to dive into a book or have a picnic is simply Parisian perfection.
  • Champ de Mars:  The best view in all of Paris of the Eiffel Tower. During the Summer tourists and locals alike picnic at Champ de Mars.
  • Montmartre:  Cruise through the hilltop area of the 18th arrondissement, and see the famous Sacré-Cœur basilica! This area of Paris is known for its artistic history and atmosphere. Iconic artists such as Picasso and Dalí once lived in the beautiful Montmartre.
  • 5th/6th Arrondissement:  Walk through the Parisian classics such as Rue Bonaparte, Rue de Bac, Rue du Four, and Rue de Sevres.
  • Le Marais:  This fashion district located in the 4th arrondissement (a.k.a. SoMa– short for South Marais) is the ideal place for trendy shopping, gay bars, and kosher restaurants/markets! While in Le Marais, don’t miss Place Des Vosges! It’s the oldest planned square in Paris and simply a sight for sore eyes!
  • Pigalle:  Once a taboo area where one could find a “woman of the night” or visit Moulin Rouge, Pigalle has transformed into the hotspot of Parisian nightlife! Home of young Parisian favorites such as Dirty Dick, Lulu White, and Hotel Amour.
  • Rue Mouffetard:  The oldest street in Paris! Mouffetard is located in the Latin Quarter and is full of college bars full of Sorbonne students!
  • Trocadero:  A photogenic view of Lady Eiffel!
  • Saint-Germain:  Located in the 6th arrondissement, Saint-Germain is an elegant area with the unmissable Musée d’Orsay!
  • Tuileries:  Tuileries Palace is the classic Parisian post-card image! Nothing feels as Parisian as a leisurely stroll through the Tuileries Palace gardens.

Shopping:

  • Merci:  The chicest store to buy Parisian staples such as home goods and clothing. Also the perfect place to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at the Used Book Cafe.
  • Nous:  If you miss Paris’ Collete boutique, Nous was founded in 2018, and is a similar high-end concept-store known for selling upcoming trends.
  • Galeries Lafayette:  Beware– once you enter, you’ll never want to leave! A department store like no other!
  • Les Halles Shopping Mall:  Not your typical French shopping, but if you are missing American malls, or crave a shopping spree, Les Halles is the place for you!

Food:

  • L’As du Fallafel:  The BEST Falafels you can find in Paris! Plus might as well find yourself  on Rue des Rosiers where celebrities such as Kendall Jenner have been spotted shopping.
  • Marlon:  The French twist on “California” style food.
  • Ritz:  High Tea? Yes please!
  • Bon Marche:  Any food (or alcohol) you can imagine!
  • Café de Flore:  I mean, how can you not trust a cafe that’s been open since 1880s?
  • Chez Julien:  Classic French cuisine.
  • Au Vieux Paris:  Oh lala! C’est très Français!
  • Cafe Marly:  Enjoy a cup of coffee while watching Louvre museum goers pass by.
  • Ralph’s:  A classic Parisian restaurant by American designer Ralph Lauren.
  • Ladurée:  Blair Waldorf approved macaroons!
  • Marcelle:  A cute brunch spot!
  • Pink Mama:  Calling all TRUFFLE enthusiasts! The food at Pink Mama is unsurpassable!
  • Pierre Herme:  Arguably the best macaroons in Paris… sorry, Ladurée.

Site Seeing:

  • Notre Dame:  A beautiful catholic cathedral.
  • Pont Alexandre III:  Along the Seinethis is the most well known bridge in Paris. A picture perfect bridge.
  • Sacré Cœur:  Located in Montmartre, this cathedral is classic, beautiful, and very well-known.
  • YSL museum:  The perfect museum for all fashion lovers!
  • Louvre:  Mona Lisa… enough said.
  • Palais Royal:  You simply cannot go to Paris and not explore Palais Royal.  
  • Les Invalides:  In the 7th arrondissement, Les Invalides contains museums and monuments.

Drinks:

  • No Entry:  A speak easy worth finding.
  • Le Perchoir:  Rooftop drinks!
  • Lulu White: The green fairy awaits… Lulu White is a New Orleans style bar known for their absinthe.  
  • Les Petit Crus:  Wine tasting served aesthetically in test tubes!
  • Hotel Amour:  An Instagram worthy exterior as well as a drink worthy destination.
  • KONG:  Enjoy a glass a wine at KONG just like Carrie Bradshaw once did before.

    I lost my expired passport in my own messy house…. unacceptable….
